Pharmacological action
Tavegyl – Allergy drug, a blocker of histamine H1-receptors. Belongs to an antihistamine resources from group benzhydryl esters. Tavegyl selectively inhibits histamine H1-receptors and reduces the permeability of capillaries. Provides and protiwallergicescoe protivozudnoe effect, characterized by a fast onset and long duration.
Antihistaminic activity of the drug when administered reaches its maximum after 5-7 hours, persisted for 10-12 hours and, in some cases up to 24 h
Testimony

Contraindications

With caution: in patients with stenosis of the pylorus of the stomach, stenosing peptic ulcer, obstructive phenomena in the pyloroduodenal region, with bladder neck obstruction, and hypertrophy of the prostate, accompanied by urinary retention, angle-closure glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular disease (including hypertension).
Tavegyl method of application and doses
Inside, take tavegyl before meals with water.
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 tablet of tavegyl (1 mg) morning and evening. In cases that are difficult to treat, daily dose can be up to 6 tablets (6 mg).
Children 6-12 years – 1/2 to 1 tablet of tavegyl before Breakfast and at night.
Side effects
CNS: possible – drowsiness, fatigue, headache, dizziness, tremor, sedation, weakness, fatigue, confusion, incoordination, rarely, especially in children, marked stimulating effect on the Central nervous system, manifested by anxiety, increased irritability, agitation, nervousness, insomnia, hysteria, euphoria, convulsions, paresthesia.
From the digestive system: perhaps – neuralgia, nausea, epigastric pain, constipation, vomiting, rarely – dry mouth, in some cases, – reduced appetite, diarrhea.
From the urinary system: very rarely – urinary frequency, difficult urination.
The respiratory system: rarely – thickening of bronchial secretions and obstruction of sputum, sensation of pressure in the chest and difficulty breathing, nasal congestion.
Of the cardiovascular system: rarely- a decrease in blood pressure (usually elderly patients), heartbeat, arrythmia.
Dermatological reactions: very rarely – photosensitization.
From the sensory organs: breach-definition of visual perception, diplopia, acute labyrinthitis, tinnitus.
The bodies of the blood: hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis.
Special instructions
Host Tavegyl, it is recommended to refrain from driving vehicles, work with mechanisms and other activities that require increased attention.
Drug interactions
Tavegyl potentiates the effect of drugs, CNS depressants (hypnotics, sedatives, tranquilizers), m-holinoblokatorov, and ethanol.
Storage conditions
Keep out of reach of children at temperature from 15° to 30°C.
