Aceterin express is an anti-allergic agent and is used:
– for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal or year-round allergic rhinitis (rhinitis) and concomitant eye inflammation (conjunctivitis);
– for the symptomatic treatment of urticaria (chronic idiopathic urticaria).

What is Aceterin?

Aceterin Express is an allergy medication. It alleviates allergic reactions and their symptoms.

For adults and children aged 6 and older, Aceterin Express is used to alleviate:

  • Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms (nasal and eye);
  • Chronic urticaria of unknown origin (chronic idiopathic urticaria).

If your condition doesn’t improve or worsens within 5 days, consult a doctor.

What to know before taking Aceterin Express:

Do not take Aceterin Express if you:

  • Are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride or any other ingredient listed in section 6;
  • Are allergic to other similar allergy medicines (such as hydroxyzine or any piperazine derivative);
  • Have severe kidney disease.

Warnings and precautions:

Before starting Aceterin Express, especially if:

  • You have kidney disease. You might need a different dose;

  • You are predisposed to urinary retention (e.g., spinal cord injury, enlarged prostate) as this medicine increases the risk of urinary retention.

Avoid alcohol when taking Aceterin Express.

If you plan to undergo skin allergy tests, refrain from taking Aceterin Express for 3 days before the test.

Using recommended cetirizine doses has not shown any clinically significant interaction with alcohol (when alcohol levels in the blood are at 0.5 per mille (g/l), equivalent to one glass of wine). However, there is no data on the safety of higher cetirizine doses taken with alcohol. Therefore, it’s not recommended to consume alcohol along with Aceterin Express or other antihistamines.

If you plan to have an allergy test, ask your doctor if you need to stop taking Aceterin Express for a few days before the test. This medicine may affect the results of your allergy test.
