Nurofen 400mg
Nurofen 400mg tablets are used to reduce inflammation, reduce temperature, and relieve mild to moderate pain associated with the following conditions
- headache
- dental pain
- fever
- period pain
- muscle strain
- head colds
- backache
- flu
- osteoarthritis
They should only be used for short-term management.
Active Ingredient
Each tablet contains 400mg of Ibuprofen as the active ingredient. Please see product packaging for a full list of other ingredients. Pack size is 12 tablets.
Who can use Nurofen 400mg?
Nurofen 400mg can be used by adults and children aged 12 years and older.
Dose
Take one tablet every four hours as required. Maximum dose is three tablets in 24 hours. Please consult your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, or if you need to take the medicine for more than 3 days.
Side Effects and Cautions
Reported side effects include tummy upset such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Please see product literature for a full list of possible side effects. Do not use Nurofen 400mg if you are allergic to any ingredients; if you have cardiovascular disease including high blood pressure; diabetes; heart failure; severe kidney failure; over-active thyroid gland; history of stomach ulcer or bleeding; or closed angle glaucoma. Caution is required if you have a history of asthma or other breathing disorders.
Pregnancy or Breastfeeding
Do not use this medicine if you are in the third trimester of pregnancy. If you are in the first or second trimesters you should contact your GP or hospital doctor before use. Nurofen 400mg tablets are unlikely to affect breast fed infants.
How to Store Nurofen 400mg
Store Nurofen 400mg below 25ºC and remember to keep all medicine out of sight and reach of children. You should return any unused or date expired medicines to your pharmacist for safe destruction.
