What is GeloMyrtol Forte 300mg?

GeloMyrtol forte is a non-prescription medicinal product containing standardised myrtol 300mg for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic bronchitis and sinusitis. GeloMyrtol forte liquefies compressed secretions, enhances their clearance, facilitates expectoration and exerts an anti-inflammatory effect. It is available as gastro-resistant soft capsules.

GeloMyrtol Forte Indications

• Symptomatic treatment of acute bronchitis and acute sinusitis
• Symptomatic treatment of chronic bronchitis and chronic sinusitis

Indicated for adults and children over 10 years of age. Not suitable for children under 10 years.

Recommended Dose

Take capsules half an hour before meals with plenty of cool liquid.

• Acute inflammation (adults and children over 10 years): 1 capsule 3–4 times daily
• Chronic conditions — maintenance therapy: 1 capsule twice daily
• To facilitate morning expectoration in chronic bronchitis: 1 capsule in the evening before bedtime

Precautions

There are no known interactions with other medicines. However, always tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking.

Although no teratogenic effects have been reported during pregnancy, consult a doctor before use — especially during the first trimester. Transition into breast milk is possible due to lipophilic properties. If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or planning to become pregnant, seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist before use.

GeloMyrtol forte has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines. This product contains sorbitol — if your doctor has informed you about an intolerance to certain sugars, contact your doctor before taking it.

Composition of GeloMyrtol Forte Capsules

Active substance: standardised myrtol 300mg (distillate from a mixture of purified eucalyptus, sweet orange, myrtle and lemon essential oils), comprising:

• Limonene — at least 75mg
• Cineole — at least 75mg
• Alpha-pinene — at least 20mg

Other ingredients: rapeseed oil (refined), gelatin, glycerol 85%, sorbitol (liquid, non-crystallising), hypromellose acetate succinate, triethyl citrate, sodium lauryl sulphate, talc, dextrin, ammonium glycyrrhizin, hydrochloric acid (diluted).
