What is Tantum Verde Oral Spray 0.15% (Benzydamine Hydrochloride Throat and Mouth Spray)?

Tantum Verde Oral Spray 0.15% contains benzydamine hydrochloride (0.15 g per 100 ml) and is applied in the mouth and throat to relieve painful inflammation of the mouth, gums, and throat, as well as infections of the oral and throat mucosa, especially associated with colds.

• Symptoms associated with colds

Dosage and Administration

Typically, Tantum Verde spray is used 2–6 times per day. Adults: 4–8 sprays. Children aged 6–12 years: 4 sprays. Do not use in children below 30 months of age. As the product contains menthol, it is not advisable for children under 5 years old.

Directions: raise the nozzle of the pump. Insert the nozzle into the mouth and aim towards the affected area. Press the pump with your forefinger. Before first use, press several times until the aerosol sprays.

Do Not Use If

• You are allergic (hypersensitive) to benzydamine or any other ingredient of the product.

Special Precautions

If symptoms persist or do not show the expected improvement, seek medical advice as soon as possible. Accidental ingestion of small amounts is safe. If large amounts are ingested by mistake (for example, by children), immediately seek medical attention — induction of vomiting is recommended as a first aid measure.

Pregnancy, Breast-feeding, and Driving

Tantum Verde Spray may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding as intended. It does not affect concentration when driving or operating machinery.

No Known Drug Interactions

No known interactions with other drugs have been identified.

Possible Side Effects

Immediately after use, tingling in the mouth and throat may occur — this is part of the mode of action and goes away after a short time. In very rare cases, a slight burning sensation of the oral lining, feeling sick, or vomiting may occur. When used for other purposes (for example, swallowing large amounts), adverse reactions may include sleep disturbances, restlessness, and visual disturbances — these subside on their own.

Active substance: benzydamine hydrochloride 0.15 g per 100 ml. Other ingredients: 96% ethanol, glycerol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, mint flavour, saccharin, sodium bicarbonate, polysorbate 20, purified water. Keep out of reach of children.
