What is Decatylen 0.25mg/0.03mg (Dequalinium Chloride and Cinchocaine Lozenges)?

Decatylen lozenges contain two active substances — dequalinium chloride (0.25 mg) and cinchocaine hydrochloride (0.03 mg) per lozenge — formulated to combat the bacteria and fungi that cause inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat, while also relieving pain.

Decatylen Indications

Decatylen is used for the topical treatment of acute oral and throat infections accompanied by significant pain, including:

  • Tonsillitis, laryngitis, and pharyngitis (inflammation of the tonsils, larynx, and throat)
  • Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums)
  • Stomatitis (inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth)
  • Oral mucosal fungal infections (such as thrush)
  • Post-tonsil surgery and tooth extraction (to aid healing)
  • Unpleasant mouth odour

How Decatylen Works

Dequalinium chloride targets and eliminates the harmful bacteria and fungi responsible for oral and throat infections. Cinchocaine hydrochloride acts as a local anaesthetic, relieving pain at the site of inflammation. Together, these active substances provide combined antibacterial, antifungal, and analgesic action.

Key Benefits of Decatylen

  • Does not cause dental caries
  • Suitable for patients with diabetes
  • Well tolerated with gentle action on oral mucosa
